Zoom Workshop January 16, 2027 - Creating a Chant – Embracing Today
11 AM Pacific Time, January 16 Live on Zoom
Creating a Chant – Embracing Today is an intuitive, hands‑on workshop that teaches participants how to turn their own words and feelings into a simple lyrical chant. Through gentle guidance and easy writing prompts, you’ll learn how to shape your chant in a way that feels natural and personal. Using either your own creative writing skills or the supportive assistance of AI, this process honors both spontaneity and structure into a chant that reflects your present moment.
Once your chant is created, you’ll explore playing it on your Native American flute — matching breath, tone, and rhythm to the flow of your words. This workshop is designed for all levels and offers an intuitive, creative approach to connecting your voice and your flute in a meaningful way.
This is a safe, fun environment to learn with others that includes demonstrations, group and individual instruction, tutorials, and interacting in real time.
RG's live workshops are 90 minutes with a video emailed to participants following the session. This means that you do not have to attend the live session and can use the recording to learn!
Once you register, an email will be sent with a confirmation and a link to join the workshop.
Learn directly from Robin Gentlewolf, a.k.a. "RG", a multiple award winning Native American flute performer from Oregon who is also an accomplished commercial recording artist and flute instructor. RG's style with the native flute is very unique - a blend of indigenous embellishments and modern techniques with heartfelt expressions.
Through her online workshops, lessons, On Demand Videos, and university instruction, RG has taught thousands of students how to play the Native American Flute, including many well-known professional players.
RG is an enrolled Tribal Elder of the Tsalagiyi Nvdagi Tribe, under the name of Texas Cherokee, signed a treaty with the Republic of Texas on February 23, 1836. Drawing from her indigenous roots, she shares a message of “be good to the earth and kind to each other” in her music and life. She also holds degrees and certifications in Metaphysical Sciences with decades of related practices.
"Everyone has a special voice and purpose with their flutes. With so much out there that puts players in a 'box', we are grateful to present RG's incredible workshops to support your flute journey." Jan Michael Looking Wolf
