Joe Loftin Flutes are very beautiful with an original natural feeling that play great. They are among the favorite flutes by Jan Michael and RG. About Joe Loftin’s flute journey - in his own words, “A few times in your life you experience some random event which may not seem particularly significant at the time, but in retrospect you can see that it was that moment when your life began to take a new direction.
My flute journey began with such a moment. On a Sunday afternoon in May of 2008 I walked into the Cherokee Heritage Center in Tahlequah Oklahoma and heard strange music coming over the PA. Exotic, beautiful, and haunting, it was unlike anything I had heard before. I stood transfixed, listening and thinking "I'm not sure what kind of instrument that is, but wouldn't it be cool to be able to play something like that."
That was the spark which in the following weeks and months grew into a consuming passion for the native flute. Now, almost eleven years later, I think of all the people I have gotten to know on this journey, all the friends I've made, the people who have become treasured parts of my life, and realize that I never would have met any of them if I hadn't walked into the Heritage Center that afternoon and heard that music. It's not an overstatement to say that the flute changed my life.”
“The Natural Series Drone and Lightening Flutes are simply incredible. Joe is an amazing flutemaker who through his love for the instrument has honed his craft to a beautiful place. His flutes sing with a clear, loud and yet soft voice. It’s really an honor to play and record with his flutes.” Jan Michael Looking Wolf
“Joe’s creations are among the best playing flutes that I’ve ever experienced.” Robin Gentlewolf
